Himachal Pradesh – India

After having a good time in the Jammu & Kashmir, my next destination was Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is one of the famous places for mountain view and resorts. It will not allow you to go back because of its calmness, beauty, pleasant weather and most importantly the winter season here. If you are planning to go for honeymoon then please book your return tickets before else you may fall in love with Himachal Pradesh and you may try to buy a house there and which shouldn’t be because your family is waiting for you at home.

The weather is pleasant in the whole year but some places have high snow in the winter and if you are adventure lover then you must plan your trip in the winter but this place has the highest number of visitors in the summer instead of winter.

  • Kullu

This place should in the top of the list if you are really interested in exploring Himachal Pradesh. It will give you all the possible things which you want to get including – it’s greenery, fresh air and mountains. You can go for trekking, camping, angling and river rafting. The best time would be May to July and November to January for snowfall. Her you can make your visit to Rohtang Pass, Solang Valley, Hadimba Temple, Tibetan Monasteries, Gulaba, Kasol and Bharigu Lake.

  • Manali

Oh, yeah, for couples but it’s a myth you can also visit with friends and family. It is one of the most loved places in India. It has stunning landscape and fresh climate whole year. The best time to visit Manali is between October to February because you will be able to experience snowfall in these months. The places you can visit in the Manali are Beas River, Hidimba Devi Temple, Solang Valley, Jogini Waterfall, Gulaba, Salong-Nullah and of course Bhrigu lake.

  • Shimla

The capital of the Himachal Pradesh and yeah, Britain in India. Of course, the greenery and its beauty attract tourists across the globe. Again it’s a myth that this place is for couples. What you can do and explore in Shimla is, first go to Shoghi and enjoy luxury camping and then rent a bike for a day and make a visit to the nearest places. You can visit The Ridge, The Mall Road, Jakhoo and few more places via bike. You can also go for camping in the Mashobra and Chail.

  • Chamba

If you love art, temples and nature then you can extend your Himachal trip to Chamba as well. Chamba has most of the temples where you can go to Laxmi Narayan Temple Complex, Chamunda Devi Temple, Bhuri Singh Museum, Bajreshwari Devi Temple, Rang Mahal, Sui Mata Shrine and few more temples as well.

  • Dharamshala

Yeah, you are right it is also known as Tabistan. Here you will be able to experience mountains and it’s an excellent view from all the points. Dharamshala is the second capital of the Himachal Pradesh. The places you can visit here are, Tsuglagkhang Complex. This is the place where you will have all the art and glimpses of the Tibetan culture other places are – Namgyal Monastery, Masrur, Mcleod Gunj, Kareri Lake, Gyuto Monastery, visit Gyato Monastery if you really want to have glimple of Budhism philosophy and Tanric meditation, Khangra Fort and Naddi Village.

  • Khajjiar

Yeah, you heard right about Khajjiar, it is also known as Mini Switzerland. In the year 1992 the Head Chancery of Switzerland named it as Mini Switzerland. It is a dreamy place with saucer shaped lush green meadow. For stay you have the option to take cottage which are being managed by HP turiosm.

It is at the height of 6500 meters from the sea level. The easiest way to reach to Mini Switzerland is your own vehicle. It dwells on a small plateau and a fed lake. It is easily approchable from the Dalhousie. Here you will see the combination of Lake, Pasture and Forest. This places is the heaven on the earth and you won’t get bore by talking long walks. Holding hand of your loved one and walk at Mini Switzerland, I can not explain, it can only be experinced. Seriously, its amazing to be here.

Another thing which sould be in your bucket list when you make a visit to this place is, the panoramic view of the mountains and kids gonna love this place with its hourse ride, adventure sports and immaculate rolling down the hill. In the summer you will see the trails of leaves that fall of the branch and in the winter you will see high snowfall and I will recommend to not to visit this place in the winter if you are not confirtable with negative temprature.

  • Kasol and Kheerganga

Yeah, of course, how can I forget these two places of the HP. Kasol is also known as Mini Israel. Kasol is a village in disctrict Kullu. In Kasol you can go to Parvati River, Tosh, Malana, Kheerganga, Parvati Pin Pass and Sar Pass Trek. Kasol and Kheerganga are also most loved places in the India. Every 10th person of India wishes to visit these places. It fills the calmness in your mind and take you away from the all the sadness and it brings the happiness in your life. You can extend your visit to the Manikaran Saheb, its just 6km away from the Kasol. Also if you love trekking then you can go for trekking to Kheerganga which is around 9km. Here you can try Israeli Food like Shakshouka, you will easily get food on local streets as well and of course you can go for shopping. From the market you can carry souvenirs for your family and friends. And you can buy t-shirts with printed lord Shiva.

These were the main places which I loved the most about the Himachal Pradesh but also there are few more places where you can extend your stay and enjoy your days. Himachal Pradesh will try a lot to make you fall in love with the city but control on yourself and as I told you in the starting pre-book your return tickets so it would be easy for you to move back.

My next destination is Punjab
